I strongly recommend JavaScript. Many of the tools and features on this site rely on it. This is true for many other sites on the web, as well, and if you keep it disabled, you're likely to be missing out on a lot on those sites, too!

Community

The following directory lists off community-building tools that are available to registered users of Protoglobe.com. Unless otherwise indicated, all of these services are 100% free. No support is available for these applications, however updates regarding problems, improvements and general performance will be posted regularly.

Groups (functional)

Users can manage groups of all sorts of topics for school, work or personal life. Group pages include message boards and photo albums. Photos from group members' Pictures section can be added to photo albums for their groups.

Profiles (functional)

Each user can manage a profile to tell other users a little about themselves. Users can search profiles, and communication tools such as messages and chat are under construction. Profiles also function as a way of posting personal ads to find a partner.

Weblog (functional)

The Weblog provides users with the ability to create timestamped entries about any topic they choose, and to categorize these entries in any way they like. Categories can be managed separately, and multiple categories can be assigned to each entry. Entries can be viewed by date or category. Readers can leave comments for each entry, and these comments can be deleted by the owner of the weblog. Commenters can even leave behind their email address in such a way that it will not be made public, but can be used to email them an update link if they ever wish to edit or delete their comments in the future, without having to actually open an account on the site at all.
